ManCat Monday and an Award!

This is my ManCat Monday picture. It was taken last summer on the deck and it's the same one I use in my profile. I think I look rather good here.

Also, I got a Lemonade Award from Millie on March 10th. I think I missed it because of my birthday bash and all. So, I want to tell Millie thanks for thinking about me. I'm sorry I'm so late in acknowledging it.

Here's the information about the Lemonade Award. It is given to sites which the giver shows either great attitude and/or gratitude. The rules for this award are:

Poco - The First Cat

A lot of comments were made about Grady and his gravesite. This is about the first cat who lived here. His name was Poco and Mom says he was a lot like me, except that he didn't talk quite so much.

This is a picture of Poco taken when Mom and dad the guy with gray hair and a beard (oops! I called him dad and he doesn't like to be called dad) first moved here in 1978. He was about 2 years old then.

This is Poco's gravesite. He's also buried in the garden, but he's under the lilac tree. He used to like to snooze there on warm summer days wrapped among the lilies of the valley. He went to the Rainbow Bridge a few months before Mom brought me home here.

Finally!

The weather here is finally starting to warm up. We've been getting some sunny days too, but Mom says it's supposed to rain and maybe a little snow this weekend. But, she assures me that the snow, if we get it, won't amount to much because it's just too warm for it to last. I sure hope so! I hate snow!

Here I am checking out my yard. Everything looks like it's still there and ok...

A quick look at my favorite snoozing spot under the deck behind the big pink flower bush. Looks ok to me...

Yep, it all looks good...

This is Grady's gravesite in the garden. I see Mom needs to get busy and do some cleaning up there. She says she will next month when she's sure the snow and nasty weather are really gone...

Honest Photo and Award

These are very honest eyes. Honest.

I'm a little slow on this, but I was given the "Honest Weblog" award by my friend Cheyenne Millie. Thank you so much, Millie!

Here's the info about the award:

When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows who or she is. Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or, improvise by including ones who have no idea who you are because you don't have 7 friends. Show the 7 random victims' names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with the "Honest Weblog". Well, there's no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least 10 honest things about yourself, as well as an Honest Photo. Then, pass it on!

So, here are 10 honest things about me:

1. I am grumpy and grouchy much of the time.
2. I always want whipped cream (the good stuff in the can) as my appetizer before my meal.
3. I am not a "hold me" cat. I can only take holding for a few seconds.
4. I like my Mom's lap the best to sit on.
5. I am always talking.
6. I carry on extensive conversations with my Mom.
7. I like to be petted.
8. I like my belly rubbed.
9. I love everyone and they love me (well, except for the guy with the gray hair and beard who lives here).
10. I miss Grady a lot and really don't like being an only cat, but I don't make new cat friends easily.

I know that many of you have already received this award so if I pass it on to you and you already have it, you can respond or not. I am passing the "Honest Weblog" award onto the following blogs:

A Wizard and an Angel
Fat Eric and Friends
the Cat Street Boyz
Our Life by Eric and Flynn
Perfectly Parker
The Cat's Meow
Tristan and Crikey are Living the Dream

Have fun with it!

Monday Baby Pictures

Misha's Kitty Fight Club got Mom thinking about baby pictures. We don't have a lot of them because in those days we didn't have dijitel flashy boxes. We had ones that used something called fillm. You didn't get pictures instantly, you had to take the fillm to a place and have it made into pictures. So, here's some of me and Grady when we were very little.

Mom calls this Grady's "deer in the headlights" pose.

Here were are just relaxing together.

This looks like me trying to show Grady who's boss. Eventually, he just learned to ignore me.

But sometimes, I just couldn't resist taking a nip out of his back leg. I can still hear Grady yelling, "Mom, he's biting me again!"

Kitty Fight Club Entry

Here's my picture I'm entering in Misha's kitty fight club contest! This is me and Grady when we first came to live here at our Forever Home. Grady went to the Rainbow Bridge two years ago and I still miss him very much. One day I'll tell our story of our lives together.

Aren't we cute?

Easy Like a Sunday Morning

I really like squeezing myself on Mom's lap when she's trying to type on the computer. I tell her the extra stretching she has to do to reach the keyboard is good exercise for her.

What's even better is mashing my head against her arm when she types.

Yummy Thursday Morning

First, we started out with a Krispy Cream, Mom let me have a bite. I tried to take the biggest bite I could, but with limited teeth and a small mouth, I could only get so much. I really like Krispy Creams.

Now to work. Here I am studying the keyboard trying to decide what I want to say.

Then there's that mouse thing. I see it has a tail, but it's not furry and it doesn't move. Maybe it's a petrified mouse, I'm not sure it would taste good at all.

Happy St. Pat's Day!

Green nip beer and shamrocks for everyone!

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Nothing like a boogie mat and a good belly rub to make a guy feel real mellow on a quiet Sunday morning...

Lazy Thursday

Boy, have I really been lazy today. It's after noon here and I'm just now getting to looking at blogs and updating my own. The Creek Cats gave me a cool award on Wednesday.

The rules of the Kreativ Blogger Award say to list 6 things that make us happy so here goes:

1. Whipped cream (the kind in the can)
2. Warm sunny days
3. My Mom's lap
4. The porch on sunny days
5. A nice snooze
6. Treats

Now, I don't know who's already gotten this award, but I will go ahead and pass it on to:

Cat Street Boyz
Cat with a Garden
Cats Meow
Mr. Tuck's Neighborhood
Jasper McKitten-Cat

(I just told my Mom she's taking too long figuring out that HTML stuff.)

Thanks again to the Creek Cats.

Today is a sunny day, we've had a few the last couple days after all that rain! Rivers around here are FLOODED! Good thing we're on the high side of the river and we don't have to worry about too much water. I hate too much water. I'm a dry land sort of cat.

After the Pawty

Thanks everyone for coming to my 18th Purrthday Pawty yesterday. I had a really good time and I hope you all did too.

I think I had just one too many creamtinis so today I'll just take a long nap and sleep it off. You know, you can't take too much pawty and excitement at my age...

It's My Birthday!

Monday, March 9, 2009

Tomorrow's my 18th Purrthday!

Everyone is invited to my 18th purrthday pawty tomorrow! We have lots of room for everyone and Mom's hired a catterer to fix all the food. We'll have ham, bacon, seafood, creamtinis, cream on the rocks, whipped cream and lots of catnip for everyone!

And, now here's a photo for Mancat Monday!

Rusty, Loves a Sunny Day!

Maggy and Zoey along with their human, Ann from Zoolatry sent me a wonderful picture. I just have to share it with everyone...

They are so right, I DO love a sunny day! Thanks so much you guys!

Easy Rainy Sunday Morning

First, cream sans coffee (my humans always have coffee in their cream)...

Then, a look out the deck door...

It's still raining!

Should I just get up in my bed and take a nap?

Guess that's the best thing to do on a rainy Sunday morning...

Rainy Caturday

It's raining today. I really don't want to go out on the deck in the wet rain. I think I'll stay inside today. Mom says, at least it's not that white stuff anymore, she says that she can deal with rain. Well, I can't. I want sunshine and warm breezes! In the wintertime, my humans use the porch for storage of the summer stuff like the patio furniture. I like that because it gives me somewhere real nice to sit when I'm on the porch.

Finally Friday!

So, Mom's trying to get an idea of what I might like in a toy to play with. She hasn't had a chance to find a nip cigar yet, so she's just trying to see what kinds of things might interest me.

No, I don't think a box with a ball in it is going to do it for me.

Same with a mouse in a box

Looks like she's getting desperate now...

Guess I'll just see what's happening outside.

Thursday's Thoughts

No coffee, thank you, I'll just have a little cream. Yummmy!

Mom's worried that maybe I'm allergic to something. I've been scratching spots of fur off and when she checked, she thought she saw bumps on my skin. I don't have fleas, Mom checked very closely and she gave me a pill for them, just in case. She just doesn't know what's causing it. I sure hope I'm not allergic to cream now, it's my favorite food next to ham.

The guy with gray hair and a beard is home today. He got today and tomorrow off work. I suppose now that he'll keep Mom busy so that she won't have so much time for me today.

Mom thinks I need a new toy of some kind. Something that will keep me interested longer than 10 seconds. I have such a short attention span now in my old age that she just doesn't know what to do. She says all I want to do is sit on her lap and while that's ok while we're watching television in the evening, she just has too many things to do during the day to sit. Why are humans so busy all the time?

My birthday is next week, Mom doesn't have the exact day, but from my Humane Society paperwork, she figures it's sometime around March 10, so she says that's when we'll celebrate it. Did I tell you about her finding the paperwork? She decided to clean out a file and found the original paperwork from the Humane Society when she adopted me nearly 18 years ago. So, now she has a good estimate of my birthday and knows my Gotcha Day. She says we can celebrate BOTH! That's good, I like pawties!

Here's a picture for Mancat Monday... Wait! I have NO EYES! Oh, that's right, that silly flash box always makes me close my eyes tight. Real tight!

5th Photo Meme

My new furiend, Teak from the Cat Street Boyz tagged me for the 5th photo meme. Here are the rules for anyone who hasn't played yet:

The rules are:
1. Open a document or file folder.
2. Click on the fifth folder.
3. Click on the fifth photo.
4. Post the photo and describe it.
5. Tag five other bloggers for the Meme.

This photo is from when my Mom and the guy with gray hair and a beard who lives here went to stay at the cabin in Hocking Hills, Ohio for Thanksgiving in 2005. It snowed while they were there. YUK! Even though I missed them, I'm glad I got to stay home with the lady that comes and stays with me. Grady was here too. I hate that yukky white stuff they call snow.

My Mom and that guy like going away to the cabin. There's no internet, no cellphone service. Only limited satellite TV and something called a hot tub (not sure what that is, but from what I've heard, it doesn't sound like something I'd like.)

Now, I'll tag 5 other bloggers:
My cousins, the Island Cats
Angel from A Wizard and an Angel
Tristan & Crikey from Living the Dream
Parker from Perfectly Parker
Shaggy, Scooby and Scout from Little Cat Feet
Have fun and enjoy!
